Marine flooring should be more than just a colorful accessory for a boat. It should also be an enduring option that holds up to the rigorous marine environment and provides lasting protection to your boat for endless days of fun on the water.
Florida’s Castaway Customs has created that option by combining state-of-the-art technology and innovative design. As the industry leader in SeaDek products, utilizing the digitizing equipment to custom create flooring for any size boat. They were the first company to develop and use the specialized equipment that is now the industry standard.
The team’s vision was inspired while following their passion of shallow water sight fishing and looking for ways to expand and introduce new uses for SeaDek. Since 2007, the company has been creating and designing custom SeaDek products for boating enthusiasts around the world. With the company headquarters in Rockledge and a second office on Florida’s west coast, the team has the ability to be mobile, meeting personally with boaters to discuss custom creations suitable for their boat floor or console. From airboats to bayboats to cruisers and sailing, Castaway Customs can create any custom SeaDek option suited to a boater’s individual style and needs on any brand and size of vessel.
SeaDek is a closed cell ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam specially formulated for the harsh marine environment of water and sun. Available in a variety of colors, the EVA foam provides traction on wet, slippery surfaces, but also reduces noise, reduces fatigue, and protects the boat from scratches and chips. It was originally created to provide a nonskid replacement for boats, but the Castaway Customs took SeaDek one step further. Using the advanced digitizing equipment, the team added an embossed pattern called micro dots into the pads to create a textured pattern. This additional benefit provides a better nonskid surface to make the boating experience more comfortable.
Castway Customs has developed a variety of products in different thicknesses, depending on the boaters’ needs. Designers can create a 15mm helm pad for day-long offshore trolling experiences; an 8mm swim platform pad to make it easier to crawl up the swim platform of a wakeboard boat; and a poling platform pad perfect for poling around a flats boat. No matter what type of boating you do, SeaDek can make the boating experience more enjoyable.
There is no limit to the inspiration and innovative designs – whatever type of design or logo a customer desires, the design team at Castaway Customs can create it. There are many varieties of colors, designs and capabilities to choose, depending on your location, project size and time frame. The company only charges for the actual square footage cost for the actual fabricated parts, not per sheet of materials used like other manufacturers. With precise accuracy, the team can create a designed pattern that fits right the first time.
Boat owners can meet with the Castaway Customs team to create their own design, or choose from a pattern from the largest SeaDek catalog of products available. Whether you choose professional installation, or do-it-yourself, Castaway Customs can create a one-of-a-kind custom SeaDek flooring to deck out your boat!
