Raymond “Ray” Hunt captured the attention of the maritime industry with his revolutionary hull design 65 years ago. A household name among boaters for decades, the current generation of innovative designers at Hunt Yachts are now expanding the legacy by redefining the boating experience for Floridians with innovative new boats specifically designed for Florida waters.
Hunt’s breakthrough Deep-V hull design revolutionized the maritime industry in the late 1950s. His distrinctive, dead rise hull, known as the ultimate form for optimal speed, comfort and safety in rough waters, still dominates the powerboat industry today.
It is the same eye towards innovation that led the current team at the helm of Hunt Yachts to create a new series of powerboats for Florida boaters. Recognizing the unique characteristics of Florida waters, the new designs are outfitted with outboard propulsion engines to travel through the shallow waters frequently found along the Intracoastal, in area coves and inlets. New innovations in outboard engine technology make outboards lighter, faster, more efficient and incredibly reliable. They are easy to maintain and service with optional digital helm control technology which makes maneuvering easier than ever. The new line specially caters to the active year-round Florida lifestyle – from fishing to entertaining.
The company’s 32CC model, was recently recognized as a dual winner at this year’s Newport International Boat Show, as Best New Powerboat Over 30’ and Overall Power Boat. The award-winning innovative center console line combines the rugged elegance of a luxury day boat with power and functionality, appealing to both families and sports fishermen. Owners can also choose from an array of semi-custom options best suited to their individual lifestyle and needs.
The multi-use functional layout of the 32CC allows for entertaining or spending time on an extended day excursion along the Gulf shore. With built-in safety and comfort features, the surprisingly roomy interior afforded by the spacious console features an enclosed head with shower, single berth, rod storage and “galette” (small galley). The console includes a forward “J” seating that can comfortably accommodate up to eight people, with a teak table for al fresco dining, perfect for Florida’s casual outdoor lifestyle.
For watersports or fishing enthusiasts, the integral swim platform with an option to add a side door makes boarding and disembarking for a quick dip in the Gulf and enjoying water sports easier. For fishermen, the platform makes it easier to land your fresh catch before storing in the insulated locker. With additional standard amenities for extra storage, two showers, a sink and a refrigerator, the 32CC is the perfect companion for today’s busy families.
Gulf coast boat owners now have the option to choose from the entire 25’ to 36’ Coastal Series, redesigned with outboard propulsion in addition to standard inboard and stern drive offerings. For longer excursions and bigger adventures, the 44’ to 80’ Ocean Series is a premier collection of yachts that feature the legendary Hunt Deep-V performance, fine craftsmanship and luxury amenities for which Hunt Yachts are praised.
With careful precision and attention to detail, every Hunt Yacht is custom hand-built by time-honored craftsmen who spent a lifetime working in the marine industry. “Building a custom boat is a big life event for people. For many of our clients, the entire family is part of the process. The boat takes on a personality, and we are happy to share this personal journey with them,” said Peter Van Lancker, President of Hunt Yachts.
To serve the needs of boaters along the Gulf Coast, Hunt Yachts has opened an exclusive sales office based in Sarasota, under the direction of Russ Clark, a seasoned boater and sales manager with more than 25 years of international business experience.
“There is a passion with Hunt Yachts that you can’t get from any other boat builder. It is so rewarding to personally meet with each client, and help them achieve their dreams of creating a semi-custom boat for their needs and active lifestyles,” said Clark.
Acquired by the iconic Maine boatbuilder The Hinckley Company in 2013, Hunt Yachts reaffirmed its status as a luxury boatbuilder. Before each owner takes possession, every handcrafted yacht is personally sea trialed and certified by the Hunt Yachts team before it is commissioned at the Hinckley Yacht Services in Stuart, Florida. It’s just one more way Hunt Yachts assures complete customer satisfaction.
Their commitment to unparalleled customer service creates a lifelong relationship with clients. From the sale through the boat building process to after market service, their hands-on approach sets the standard in the marine industry. It’s that kind of intimate, personal relationship with every client that continues to sustain this visionary company.
PART OF THE HINCKLEY COMPANY FAMILY
In 2013, Hunt Yachts became a part of The Hinckley Company. It is a historic melding of two of the great influences, those of Henry R. Hinckley and C. Raymond Hunt, in American boatbuilding. This relationship benefits our owners by providing a rich pool of talent which informs both boatbuilding and after market service.
Hunt owners are welcomed at any of Hinckley’s six service locations from Maine to Florida, including service yards in Naples and Stuart, for service, maintenance and hospitality. Learn more about the Hunt legacy at HuntYachts.com.
